Craig Thomas is an accomplished singer, multi-instrumentalist, including tenor, alto, soprano, and baritone saxophones, clarinet, flute, and guitar, and songwriter with The R&B Bombers, Jim Messina, the Craig Thomas Trio, Craig Thomas & Bluetopia, and Roomful of Blues.
He has performed on records and onstage with Aretha Franklin, Al Jarreau, Michael McDonald, Loggins & Messina, Jim Messina, Johnny Mathis, Les McCann, Olivia Newton-John, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, Jermaine Jackson, Bill Champlin, Clarence Clemmons of the E Street Band, Tom Jones, Domino Affect, and on several movie soundtracks, “Death Warrant” starring Jean-Claude van Damme, “Maid To Order” starring Ali Sheedy and featuring Merry Clayton, and “Steal Big, Steal Little” starring Andy Garcia.
He’s also written songs for Mike Love, Jim Messina, the R&B Bombers and smooth jazz groups Domino Affect and 206.
Craig Thomas’s style is strong rhythm and blues with obvious rock and jazz influences. He is able to shout out traditional blues, whisper a soft melodic ballad, or slide through an R&B tune with equal skill and an underlying soulful feeling.
